West Brom boss left furious

West Brom

West Brom manager Steve Clarke has blasted the decision that cost his side all three points away at Chelsea yesterday, as reported by ITV Sport.

Chelsea were awarded a last gasp penalty after Ramires tumbled in the area with the score at 2-1 to West Brom.

The entire West Brom side could not believe the decision that cruelly snatched away a famous away victory for the Midlands club.

Clarke has blasted referee Andre Mariner for making the decision but the Baggies were also clearly furious with Blues midfielder Ramires for going down easily, although the West Brom boss has left the labelling of the fall to others.

“I am flabbergasted at the decision, I cannot believed the referee gave it,” said Clarke.

“What is the point (of talking to the referee)? I cannot change the decision.

“He (Ramires) started going down early before the contact, so you guys can put a label on it if you want.

“For me the onus is on the referee to make the correct decision and he did not make it.

“The referee has to be 100 per cent sure it is a penalty, and how he can be 100 per cent sure in that instance is beyond me. It was a bad decision.”
