West Brom consider 2nd bid for title winning defender

West Brom haven’t given up hope on signing Jeffrey Schlupp from Premier League champions Leicester City.

That’s according to TeamTalk, who report the Baggies are debating making a 2nd bid for the player after having a £9million off rejected.

Whilst the 23-year-old can play in midfield, Tony Pulis is looking to fill his left-back position, with Chris Brunt having to drop deeper down the field to fill in for the majority of last season.

Schlupp made 24 appearances last season for the Foxes, as they did the unthinkable and lifted the Premier League trophy. However, only two of those appearances were starts, with Christian Fuchs becoming the regular left-back at the King Power Stadium.

The 23-year-old showed off his versatility by scoring in Leicester’s 2-1 victory over Oxford in their preseason friendly this week, and would cost an 8-figure fee, with the initial £9million offer rejected.

Whilst West Brom are hoping to tempt the Ghanian with regular football, the Foxes are able to offer UEFA Champions League football. How much of the competition Schlupp gets to play in is of course questionable.
