West Brom will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they take on a Reading side searching for their first victory since returning to the Premier League.
Steve Clarke and his side were bought back down to earth with a bump last weekend, losing 3-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage, having previously been enjoying an unbeaten start.
Meanwhile Brian McDermott’s men have just a single point from their opening three Premier League games, losing 3-1 at home to Tottenham last time out.
A win for West Brom would see them go into the top four, temporarily at least with the majority of clubs in and around that area not playing until Sunday.
Reading will be desperate for the points also, having found themselves in the relegation zone at this early stage.
Peter Odemwingie will begin his three game suspension following his red card at Fulham last weekend, with on loan Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku likely to take his place up front.
Clarke is also set to be without defender Goron Popov who is struggling with a groin problem.
Meanwhile Brian McDermott is set to stick with Alex McCarthy in goal, despite the controversy surrounding the dropping of Adam Federici, who’s girlfriend took to Twitter last week to vent her frustrations against the club.
Striker Jason Roberts remains sidelined, whilst Jimmy Kebe is unlikely to be risked despite being close to returning from a hamstring problem.
Prediction: West Brom 3-1 Reading
