Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits their win against West Brom on Saturday was vital.
It was a first Premier League win in four for Rodgers side, with the Merseyside club struggling to reproduce last seasons’ form.
And it had looked like another frustrating afternoon for the Liverpool fans when Saido Berahino pulled the Baggies level.
However, Jordan Henderson popped up on the hour mark to earn Liverpool a much needed win when he found the bottom corner.
The Liverpool manager now believes the victory can help spur his side on.
He said: ”As we work more together the quality of our game will improve and the performance will improve but you have to find a way to win and today we did that.
“That was against a West Brom team coming in with good confidence having won 4-0 last week.”
“They keep clean sheets, they are difficult to beat and we found a way to break through that resistance and win,” the Reds boss added.
“Getting three points was vital for us before the international break.”
