West Ham joint-chairman David Gold has revealed that attacking star Manuel Lanzini is set for a month on the sidelines after hobbling out of his team’s 2-0 win over Liverpool yesterday.
The Argentine put in an excellent early performance against the Reds, hitting the post in the process, before being forced to leave the action close to half-time.
Lanzini has recently returned to the Hammers’ first-team fold after another injury, with his latest setback a real blow for Slaven Bilic’s men.
Gold has stated that tests will be done on the South American on Monday but the early prognosis suggests that he will be on the treatment table for the next four to six weeks, as reported by The Guardian.
Lanzini is currently on loan at West Ham from Al-Jazira, but has had a sublime debut campaign in English football to date and been a real find for the London side.
It is expected that his move to the Hammers will be made permanent in the near future.
