West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has hailed Tottenham Hotspur as the much better side after their 4-1 loss at White Hart Lane, according to reports from talkSPORT.
The Hammers have been brilliant against the tops teams so far this term, beating the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal before their clash against the Lilywhites.
However, they were thrashed by Spurs who have been unbeaten since the second game of the campaign, with goals from Toby Alderweireld, Kyle Walker, and a Harry Kane brace helping Mauricio Pochettino’s men to a comfortable victory.
And Bilic blasted his side’s display, but also praised his opponents who he believed totally deserved all three points.
“A surprise is a word for something good – it was a shock. We deserved to lose 4-1,” Bilic said.
“I thought we could come back in the second half because we created some good stuff but after the third goal, it just killed the game and to be fair after that it was all them.
“We played really bad but we have to admit they played a really good game of football.
“They were quicker than us, physically stronger than us, they grew in confidence and they were skilful also. No excuses, they were much better.”
The result saw Spurs leapfrog the Irons to fifth on the table just two points off Arsenal in fourth and only four points away from league leaders Leicester City.
The Lilywhites will have a tough task to keep their 12-game unbeaten run going when they face champions Chelsea in next weekend’s fixture.
