West Ham are believed to be on the verge of completing a deal to sign Alou Diarra from Marseille, Sky Sports claim.
The Hammers are in the process of strengthening their squad ahead of their Premier League return, and have already signed the likes of Modibo Maiga this summer.
However, it is thought that the Upton Park club have agreed a fee with the Stade Velodrome outfit for Diarra, and that the France international has flown to London to discuss personal terms.
Diarra was part of Les Bleus’ Euro 2012 squad and has captained his nation in the past also, but has struggled for form since signing for Marseille in 2011.
It is also rumoured that Diarra will sign a two-year contract with Sam Allardyce’s men.
