West Ham enter talks to sign 21-goal Chelsea target

West Ham United have opened talks with Chelsea target Jonathan Calleri in order to reinforce their attack in the January window, Metro reports.

The 22-year-old is believed to be on his way out of current club Boca Juniors after he posted a farewell message to his team via his Twitter account.

Apart from the current Premier League champions declaring their interest, Arsenal and Inter Milan are also keen on the services of the striker after he impressed in the Argentine top flight this past season.

His 21 goals from a total of 53 appearances in all competitions for his club have caught the attentions of a number of European elites as a transfer is now looking quite likely.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is currently short of options up top due to injuries to striking pair Diafra Sakho as well as Enner Valencia.

In addition to the forward pair being unavailable, defender Winston Reid, midfielders Victor Moses, Manuel Lanzini, and Dimitri Payet are also sidelined with a knock.
