West Ham United star Diafra Sakho is set for scans on his thigh injury today, but it is feared that he will miss at least three months of first-team football, according to reports from the London Evening Standard.
Sakho was forced off the field during the Hammers’ 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion last weekend, with initial tests revealing that it is not a short-term problem.
It is a big blow to West Ham after Sakho only returned from an injury that kept him out the past month with a similar issue, but it seems that it is much worse than the previous occasion.
The Irons had a brilliant start to the campaign after away victories against Arsenal, Liverpool, and league leaders Manchester City, but ever since the injury to star summer signing Dimitri Payet early last month, Slaven Bilic’s men have failed to win a single fixture.
Andy Carroll is therefore expected to start for the Hammers when they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United this weekend.
