West Ham are thought to be ready to make a bid for Manchester United fringe forward Dimitar Berbatov, according to Mirror Football.
The Bulgarian striker has seen his first-team opportunities at Old Trafford limited of late, as Sir Alex Ferguson prefers to deploy Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck in his side, with Javier Hernandez also in the mix.
Berbatov has revealed this week that he is now eager to leave the Red Devils in search of more regular football, with a fee of around £5 million believed to be enough to convince United to sell.
The newly-promoted side are looking to bring an established forward to Upton Park, and have recently been linked with an audacious loan approach for Andy Carroll.
However, with the Liverpool man spurning the chance to move to West Ham, Sam Allardyce will make another shock loan move, this time for Berbatov.
