West Ham United are now favourites to complete the signing of Chelsea target Alex Song from Barcelona, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a very impressing loan spell at Upton Park last season, with the Hammers now looking to seal a move for the player in the current window.
With Song considered a home-grown player, Manchester City were also keeping a close eye on the midfielder, especially after losing James Milner to Liverpool.
It is now believed that the former Arsenal star has already agreed the terms of his new deal with West Ham and is being tipped to undergo a club medical in the coming days.
The Cameroon international has been a key performer for his side on loan last season, making a total of 31 appearances in all competitions and instantly becoming a hit with the fans.
He joined the La Liga champions back in 2012, but struggled to break into the first team, featuring only 39 times in two years.
