West Ham plot January move for on-loan Liverpool forward

West Ham United are plotting a January move for on-loan Liverpool star Mario Balotelli, according to reports from the Brentwood Gazette.

Balotelli was re-signed by AC Milan in the summer after a disastrous year in the Premier League with the Reds, but ‘SuperMario’ has once again struggled with form and niggling injuries back at the San Siro.

And despite returning to full fitness, the Italy international has found it difficult to break into the first-team with Carlos Bacca and M’Baye Niang ahead of him in the pecking order.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is also reportedly uninterested in bringing Balotelli back to Anfield, opening the door for West Ham to make a swoop.

The Hammers are keen on signing a striker this month amid their injury troubles, with Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho both sidelined with respective problems.

Enner Valencia and Nikica Jelevic are the only two options left, but the latter is a target for Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande and could leave Upton Park this month.

Balotelli, 25, has only made five appearances for the Rossoneri this season, scoring one goal.
