West Ham target ready for January move

Felipe Caicedo (Lokomotiv Moscow)Lokomotiv Moscow striker Felipe Caicedo is ready to leave the Russian giants in January, with West Ham thought to be keen on his signature, according to reports from Izvestia.

The former Manchester City man has moved to the top of Sam Allardyce’s hit list as he searches for a new centre-forward ahead of the January transfer window.

The Hammers have been without marquee signing Andy Carroll – who is sidelined through injury – for the opening months of the season, and ‘Big Sam’ has often opted against fielding emergency signings Mladen Petric and Carlton Cole in favour of a strikerless system.

But, he is ready to address his squad’s deficiencies with a winter move for Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian ace is ready to leave Lokomotiv according to his agent, Jose Chomorro, who says that his client is looking for a new challenge:

“Caicedo’s game has long earned the attention of many European clubs.” He said.

“Naming any specific team does not make sense, but I don’t mind saying that there are clubs from Europe’s leading championships interested.

“However, I should note that Felipe respects his current contract with Lokomotiv and he will leave only in the event that the club are satisfied with the proposed terms.

Caicedo’s current contract does not expire until 2-15, and Lokomotiv are thought to value him at around £7m.

Could Felipe Caicedo be the ideal man for West Ham?
