West Ham United are ready to make a sensational January offer to sign Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea if he continues to struggle for regular first-team football at Stamford Bridge, The Mirror report.
The Hammers recruited extensively over the course of the summer and are intent on improving after a move to the London Stadium.
However, Slaven Bilic’s men did not sign a high-profile star, with this initially the aim for the Premier League side.
Fabregas has not been guaranteed a starting berth at Chelsea since Antonio Conte’s arrival, with the Italian trainer usually preferring new signing N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic in the boiler room.
The Spaniard got the chance to play against former employers Arsenal on Saturday evening but it was not a happy return to North London for the ex-Barcelona man, who had a minimal impact in a 3-0 defeat for his side.
The report suggests that West Ham are keeping a close eye on Fabregas’ situation and will offer him the chance to be the main man at the Hammers if he opts to leave his current side.
