West Ham United are considering a move to sign Nicolas N’Koulou from Marseille as they plan to keep their defence covered should Winston Reid accept a move to either Arsenal or Manchester United, Daily Mail reports.
The 24-year-old is being tracked by Hammer’s scouts as Reid is tipped for a potential exit due to his decision not to extend his contract which expires at the end of this season.
It is believed that Sam Allardyce could part ways with his current defender for a bid around the region of £6million as he could use the incoming funds to make a move for the Cameroon international.
Both Arsene Wenger and Louis Van Gaal are keen in adding another experienced defender into their ranks as the pair of them have recently suffered a host of injuries which has directly affected their back line.
N’Koulou featured in 15 out of 17 Ligue 1 matches, scoring two goals while his ability to be moved into an anchorman role could be seen as a big asset for the Hammers.
