West Ham United may have been given a huge boost in regards to the services of Alex Song after Cameroon left him out of their selection for the squad heading to the Africa Cup of Nations, Daily Mail reports.
With Sam Allardyce’s men sitting in fourth place of the Premier League and the 27-year-old midfielder a top performer, the Hammers boss may feel a little relaxed after earlier admitted he was a worried in the build up to the competition.
“We might have a little worrying spell during the Africa Cup of Nations in January,” he said earlier in the season.
“That’s why I’m not prepared to do any more predictions until they come back.
“We don’t want to get carried away. We just want to keep on playing the football we’re playing at the moment. Everyone is enjoying themselves, there’s a good buzz around the training ground which is always a good sign.”
However, he is still likely to lose the services of Daifra Sakho and Cheikhou Kouyate to Senegal for the tournament which will begin on January 17.
