The Liverpool midfielder has struggled this season, scoring 5 goals in his 33 appearances in all competitions.
The Hammers were reported to have agreed a fee for Andy Carroll earlier this week, who spent the season on loan at Upton Park from Liverpool. Shelvey could be joining the forward, as the Reds look to raise some funds.
The 21-year-old joined the Merseyside club from Charlton in 2010, and has since received his first England cap during England’s 5-0 win over San Marino in October.
But the midfielder has struggled to impress both Brendan Rodgers and the Kop this season, and could be allowed to leave the club during the summer. With the Reds wanting to launch a spending spree, Shelvey looks set to make way in order to fund the club’s transfers.
