He is 6ft 4, has a Head-And-Shoulders-Advert of a barnet and divides opinion more than most players. But with the World Cup looming old "Woy" has to seriously be considering taking Andy Carroll to Brazil.

Against Sunderland he scored one of his trademark headers (sure there haven't been many this season) and provided the assist for Mohamed Diame, thrusting himself again into the spotlight. But with plenty of options up front, namely the other Carroll'esque unit Rickie Lambert, the West Ham star has got his work cut out. To clear up the debate though, we've been kind enough to give you three reasons we reckon he should head across the Atlantic come summer time:

1 The Aerial Threat

Few players win more headers than Carroll. He is a serious threat off crosses and with a lack of creativity sometimes plaguing England's style, if it comes to route one he is the guy to have.

2 Alongside Rooney and Sturridge England could have a winning combination

Daniel Sturridge is on fire for Liverpool at the moment and Rooney is finding form at United. With Sturridge and Carroll up top, with Rooney behind, could that be exactly what England are after?

3 And finally, we bet you didn't know this.....
