Manchester City are set to be without Sergio Aguero for the start of the Premier League season, according to The Mirror.
Manuel Pellegrini could well have to make do without the Argentina international, who featured in the Copa America over the summer.
The Chilean manager is set to give the former Atletico Madrid striker and other players who participated in the competition a longer holiday and as such they may not be ready to feature in time for the return of English club football.
Others that could well be absent when City return to Premier League action include Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis and Fernandinho.
Despite this, Aguero’s absence will be the most acutely felt, as the South American striker is one of the best in his position in world football.
The Etihad Stadium outfit start their Premier League campaign away to West Brom, befor hosting champions Chelsea the following week – the City fans will hope Aguero is fit and firing in that clash against a major title rival.
