Yaya Toure declares his fitness for FA Cup final

Manchester City midfielder Yaya ToureManchester City have been boosted by Yaya Toure’s confirmation that he is fit for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Wigan at Wembley.

The influential midfielder was rested for Tuesday’s 1-0 Premier League win against West Brom after being withdrawn against Swansea on Saturday feeling the effects of fatigue.

However, following a couple of days rest, Toure has revealed that he is back in full training and will be available for selection in boss Roberto Mancini’s plans for the game against the Latics.

Toure said: “I am good. Sometimes it is difficult to play all the games at the same level and sometimes you can get an injury. But we have worked on that, trying to keep injury far away and try to concentrate on delivering at the weekend.

“I am already fit. I started training three days ago and I am well in now.

“I want to deliver a good game and help the team to achieve something important.”

Winger Scott Sinclair is out of contention after undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot in his shoulder, although Mancini has no new injury problems to contend with.

Second-choice goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon is set to start ahead of Joe Hart having played in all the previous rounds, while Mancini also took the likes of skipper Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta, Matija Nastasic, Gareth Barry, David Silva and Sergio Aguero out of his starting XI against the Baggies which suggests they will all feature in his XI on Saturday.
