Zaki promises to repay Hull faith

Controversial striker Amr Zaki has promised to repay Hull City's faith after returning to the Premier League with the Tigers.

Zaki's season-long loan at Wigan Athletic finished under a cloud last season after a string of late returns to the club from international duty with Egypt left manager Steve Bruce to describe him as most unprofessional player he had ever worked with.

The striker had scored 11 goals in his first 19 appearances for the Latics and has promised to do his best to reprise that form after joining the Tigers on loan for the remainder of the season.

"There have been many things written about me in the past. I want to prove that I am a good player but also a good man," he said.

"I met with the manager Mr Brown and the president of the club Mr Pearson. They are good people and made me feel wanted.

"I will be working hard on my fitness and I hope to be available for the manager to select me as soon as possible.

"The Premier League is the best league in the world and I can't wait to be involved on a match day again.

"I talked with Mr Brown and I explained that I want to work hard in the Premier League, score goals and help Hull City."
