Tottenham’s transfer window finally got up and running last week after they announced a club-record move for Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez.
With just a few days left of the window Mauricio Pochettino is expected to continue his spending with a number of new faces coming in, including the likes of Estudiantes’ Juan Foyth and Paris Saint-Germain’s Serge Aurier.
However, another new face who could be rocking up at White Hart Lane before Thursday’s night’s summer transfer window deadline could be Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, who is valued at £16.2m by transfermarkt.com.
The Ivory Coast international is currently sidelined with an injury he picked up in Crystal Palace’s opening day defeat to Huddersfield, but online bookmakers BetVictor have Spurs at just 9/4 to sign Zaha before the end of the current transfer window.
The odds are surprising given the winger signed a new Selhurst Park contract at the end of May, just weeks after it had been reported by the Guardian that Spurs had actually cooled their interest in signing him.
However, odds as short as 9/4 perhaps suggest BetVictor know something we don’t. The likelihood of a deal going ahead before Thursday’s deadline would undoubtedly be very low given the circumstances, but you just never know in today’s game.
