Watch: Coleman’s path to recovery doesn’t have to be like Shaw’s

Fans of club football don’t often enjoy international breaks and Everton supporters had added reason to be annoyed with most recent round of country-based action with Seamus Coleman’s broken leg set to ruin the bulk of his 2017.

The Irish full-back was on the end of a horrific ‘tackle’ from Wales’ Neil Taylor that has left him ruled out for the remainder of this season and a hefty chunk of the early months of next and led some to question if he’ll ever be the same player again. Natural comparisons have been drawn between his set-back and the one Luke Shaw suffered in September 2015, which the England international hasn’t really come back from even now.

Alas, it’s not all doom and gloom, with a few players having found the light at the end of the tunnel and recovered from such nasty injuries. We’ve looked at the saga below and some of the luckier players…
