Watch: Time for Gareth to Bail?

Gareth Bale has won everything going at Real Madrid, even scoring in two of those finals.

In four seasons, he has three Champions League titles, one La Liga, one Copa Del Rey, one Super Cup and even one Club World Cup but… here’s a thought. What if the Welshman isn’t actually worth the £85m paid for him in the summer of 2013? Controversial, yes, but before you shoot the messenger, it’s worth highlighting comments by Spanish newspaper, Marca, who stated “Bale’s absence is a solution for Real, not a solution.”

Gareth Bale has been injured for over 200 days since the start of last season and in that time, it has become apparent that Real fare much better when the ‘BBC’ of Bale, Benzema and Cristiano don’t play together. Without one of the three, an extra midfield player offers more control and defensive balance and the stats back it up.

Of course, all three are undroppable to club president Florentino Perez so it was a truth that was only likely to come to light in the event of an injury to one of the trio.

Check out the video below to find out just how much better Los Blancos fare without Bale and how much money he has earned for an increasingly diminished contribution.
