Chelsea made a huge statement this January when they signed Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina in a £26.8million deal, with Mohamed Salah going in the other direction.
It looks like a good trade, as the Egyptian winger could not bring the form he showed at Basel to Stamford Bridge.
And after making his debut in the Blues’ last fixture, the Chelsea faithful are already hoping he can adapt to become a vital part of the side.
However he will have to get his head straight when Jose Mourinho’s men face Manchester United, because according to the Mirror, Cuadrado is a huge fan of the mighty Red Devils!
Not only was the 26-year-old a fan, the Colombia international even played for a team called Manchester in a town north of Colombia called Urawa.
“When he was with us he was a big fan of Manchester United,” said youth coach Deninson Rivas.
“At that time, around the year 2000, they had a fantastic team, they were the best team in the world and they were very popular in Colombia.
“Playing for Manchester himself, it naturally was close to his heart. He dreamed of playing for them – maybe he still does!”
But back in the day it wasn’t a huge surprise, with the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and Ryan Giggs all in their prime.
So feel safe Chelsea fans, United just aren’t the same team he once used to love now.
