Arsenal star now statistically the best player in the Premier League

When a club spends big money on a player there are usually only two outcomes. Either he doesn’t perform to the level signified by his price tag, or he adapts to become a key player for the club.

Well Alexis Sanchez has done the latter and more, as the Chilean is now statistically the most important player in any Premier League team at the moment.

That’s because the former Barcelona star has been involved in an amazing 19 goals for the Gunners this year – two more than Sergio Aguero – after he supplied the assists to Laurent Koscielny and grabbed a brace himself against Stoke on Sunday.

Liverpool will be wondering why they didn’t use the money from the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona to spend on Sanchez, because the 26-year-old is carrying the Gunners on his should much like Suarez’s performances for the Reds last season.

And Sanchez was also £28million cheaper than Manchester United’s record signing Angel di Maria.

Is he set to win the PFA Player of the Year award in his first season?
