Only a few months ago former Chelsea striker Fernando Torres was still being made fun of during his time at AC Milan, as the Spanish ace’s form did not improve after leaving Stamford Bridge.
Ever since that open goal miss against Manchester United, Torres has never been the same player he was at Liverpool, and it looked like when he swapped the Rossoneri’s red and black to go back to Atletico Madrid last month, it was just an effort to get home away from all the media insults.
However Torres hasn’t merely settled back into the Vincent Calderon, he has excelled once again for the La Liga champions, scoring goals against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid for the club he used to captain as a young wonderkid.
Now from being a total flop, Torres has transformed himself since his move, being voted as the best January signing this season by UEFA (in which over 50 million participants took part).
It seems the Fernando Scoreless jokes may finally be put to bed.
