We don’t know whether Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is just trolling his fans like he sometimes does by tinkering with his formation or making Phil Jones takes corners, or if the Dutchman is really losing it as the Red Devils manager.
It is normal in football for managers to come out in public to criticize their opponents’ tactics after a disappointing game, but usually there isn’t much of a reply.
These gaffers know that their rivals are just trying to get under their skin, and it may best to keep silent on the issue.
But not Van Gaal, who took it personally following West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce hitting out at Man United’s ‘hit and hope’ long-ball tactics after the 1-1 draw during the weekend.
The former Bayern Munich manager seemed to have gone home to look at the game statistics, printing out a four page report on to how ‘Big Sam’ got it so wrong.
However all it looks like to us is that Van Gaal is just cracking under the pressure.
