And we have lift-off!
After spending £20million for Serbian ace Lazar Markovicin the summer, the attacking midfielder finally scored his first Liverpool goal in their 3-1 win over Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup quarter-final.
Markovic managed to latch on to a clearance following a Philippe Coutinho’s shot from the left, which will give Reds boss Brendan Rodgers a minor boost in his decision to sign the youngster.
The 20-year-old hasn’t been offered a consistent run in the first team but could be used more frequently ahead of some very-winnable fixtures after this weekend’s crunch match against Arsenal.
Can he rise to save Liverpool’s ailing season?
