Man United star is essentially a FIFA legend

FIFA 15 is now out, but we mustn’t forget the FIFA games of old.

Squawka have put together a Vine containing the previous 15 front covers of FIFA.

At the turn of the century Sol Campbell was the chosen one as he appears on the cover of Playstation 1’s FIFA 2000. It was another Englishman the following year as Paul Scholes was used for the biggest football game on the planet.

2003 saw a combination of players for the first time as Edgar Davids, Ryan Giggs, and Roberto Carlos shared the cover. Having three stars on the cover was to remain the way it was done until 2006 when Wayne Rooney made his first appearance alongside Ronaldinho. The same duo then donned the cover for the next two years, making them the longest serving FIFA cover stars.

Rooney is present up until 2013 when Lionel Messi stepped in, and FIFA 15 marks the Argentines third cover appearance (tying him with Rooney and Ronaldinho).
