Should this Man United star be banned longer for spitting first?

Clashes between Newcastle United and Manchester United have seen some epic games, with goals usually a certainty when these two sides are involved.

However, last night’s encounter was a rather drab affair, as the only goal came from Tim Krul gifting Ashley Young the ball late in the second half, allowing the winger to stroke into an empty net.

But the match will be in the media for a different incident.

During the first half, Man United defender Jonny Evans seemed to spit on Newcastle’s Papiss Cisse on the ground, resulting in the Senegal striker also retaliating with a gush of saliva of his own.

The two players are now set to go under investigation from the Football Association, and both could be banned for their club’s upcoming fixtures.

Yet from the clip, it seems clear that Evans did start the argument, and like how Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic retaliated to the horror tackle from Ashley Barnes last week, it would be normal for Cisse to react in the manner that he did.
