This is a worrying statistic for Arsenal’s marquee summer signings

When Arsenal purchased Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona the past summer, Gunners fans all over the world was hoping to see Arsene Wenger’s two big marquee signings link up in the upcoming season.

However, sadly for the Emirates faithful, Mesut Ozil, who was purchased in the summer of 2013, sustained an injury early in the campaign and was unable to play alongside Sanchez.

Alexis didn’t mind though, as the Chilean ace was incredible during the first half of the season, with the former Udinese winger scoring 17 goals and nine assists in the current campaign.

And once Ozil returned from his fitness problems, it was expected that Arsenal would be a frightening team to play against with these two superstars in their line-up.

But for some odd reason, ever since the return of the German World Cup winner into the Gunners’ starting line-up, Sanchez has not been able to score a single goal in his seven appearance since Ozil’s return.

We don’t know if it’s just coincidence that Sanchez is tiring after an explosive start, or that he just doesn’t work well with the ex-Real Madrid man.

Let’s hope it’s the former, and that once he’s fully fit, we’ll see the true Arsenal for the rest of the season.
