Tony Khan let Scott Parker and Fulham supporters down by failing to secure the signature of Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window, as he is starting to show why he was so sought-after with his performances at Crystal Palace.

Fulham were one of several Premier League sides who were keen on signing the 22-year-old from QPR in the summer, after his superb displays in the Championship with Mark Warburton's side.

The youngster was a mainstay for the Hoops last season, contributing an impressive 14 goals and eight assists across the Championship campaign, whilst also earning an incredible 10 man-of-the-match awards (per WhoScored).

This was enough to see him ranked as the third-best player in the second division across the season, so it was no surprise that he earned himself a move to the top-flight in the summer.

Fulham were eventually beaten to his signing by Crystal Palace, with the Eagles completing a £16.02 million deal for the Englishman.

Although Eze didn't feature much in Palace's first few games of the season, he looks to be establishing himself as a regular in Roy Hodgson's first-team, and he showed his class in their 4-1 win against Leeds at Selhurst Park last weekend; scoring a goal and contributing an assist which earned him a superb 9.13 rating (per WhoScored).

Considering Fulham have scored just seven goals in their opening eight Premier League fixtures this term, it seems as if Parker's side are really lacking a player such as Eze, who proved himself to be both a goalscorer and creator in the Championship last term.

His performances certainly impressed Warburton who, following a 2-0 win against Preston North End in which Eze scored both goals, hailed the youngster, saying:

"There are no limits for Eze. It is down to him and how hard he works. Eze is a tremendous talent. I want him to enjoy his football and he has got to understand how much hard work is required to maximise the talent that he has." (per Goal)

Therefore, it can certainly be argued that Fulham made a mistake in not doing everything they could to bring Eze in during the summer, as he looks to be starting to show his obvious talent in the Premier League.
