Fulham have agreed personal terms with AS Roma winger Justin Kluivert regarding a potential move to Craven Cottage.

What's the news?

In a recent Twitter post, journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had this to say on the matter.

"Justin Kluivert has agreed personal terms with Fulham and his priority is to join the English club as soon as possible. Negotiations ongoing with AS Roma.

"The two clubs will try to find full agreement, new round of talks scheduled today."

After working his way through Ajax's youth ranks, the 23-year-old joined Roma back in the summer of 2018 and has had loan spells with RB Leipzig and OGC Nice.

With 220 club appearances to his name across senior and youth levels, the attacker has found the net 47 times and provided 48 assists along the way.

Silva should be thrilled

Considering the club's need for new faces before the window shuts on September 1st, the addition of a highly-rated attacking player with as quality as the Dutchman should leave the manager thrilled.

Previously described as a player that has "nearly limitless" talent by Nick Mercadante, Kluivert managed to show his supreme talent during his loan spell with Nice last season.

In 27 Ligue 1 appearances, the winger ended up scoring four goals and delivering five assists, in addition to seeing only three other Nice players have more shots at goal (30) and only one other player complete more successful dribbles than him (33).

This shows how dangerous he is on the ball and what the £54k-per-week attacker would be able to offer the Cottagers on the pitch.

Manor Solomon has suffered a significant knee injury that will reportedly keep him out of action until after the World Cup, and Harry Wilson is also out of action, so the need for Fulham to bring another winger in before the summer transfer window closes is evident.

With that in mind, securing a deal for the £12.6m-rated Kluivert and getting him into the squad as quickly as possible would surely be beneficial for the west London club and their hopes of getting as many points on the board in the Premier League as they can.

Combine his impressive statistics and the need for injury cover with Romano claiming the player is incredibly keen to join the club, and Silva should be thrilled that a deal is so close to completion.

If Fulham can wrap this move up as soon as they can, this would then allow them to use the remaining days left of the summer window to focus on strengthening other areas of the squad they feel need addressing.
