FPL: Who should you use your triple captain on this weekend?
We’ve all been there, and it’s a tough decision to make. The FPL season has started and you’re lacking a bit in points after the first couple of game weeks – so what do you do? Well, you do what any level headed person would do, and you use your triple captain early.
The triple captain is my personal favourite of all the Fantasy Premier League tools – it allows the user to triple the points total of their designated captain for that particular game week rather than the usual double points you receive on your captain, but unlike the wildcard, once you’ve used it, that’s it, no second chances.
Just like the wildcard, it can be useful to use your triple captain for a double game week for the same reasons – due to double the chance of them receiving a triple score. However, if you’re lacking in points in your mini-league and fancy using your triple captain this weekend – here are five players who could deliver for you granted you have them in your squad…
Kai Havertz – £8.4m
The 21-year-old had a slow start to life at Chelsea over the first few games of the season, but finally managed his first goals for the Blues the other night against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup – and despite the level of opposition, it will give Havertz the confidence he needs to properly kickstart his career at the club.
This weekend Chelsea face West Bromwich Albion, a side that has lost their opening two Premier League games, conceding 8 goals in the process. I expect the young German to finally get his first goals in the Premier League this Saturday, having been in fine form during his time at Bayer Leverkusen with an impressive goalscoring record of 36 goals in 118 appearances in the Bundesliga from midfield, as well as registering 22 assists.
Havertz will definitely be a player to consider triple captaining for GW3.
