West Ham's £16m capture of Javier Hernandez in July was widely regarded as the signing of the summer at the time.

The former Manchester United striker arrived in East London with a reputation of being one of the best goal poachers in Europe and many couldn't understand how the Hammers had managed to sign him for such a small fee.

Fantasy Premier League immediately slapped him with a price tag of just £7.0m, leading to many FPL managers giving him some serious consideration for selection ahead of GW1.

However, West Ham travelled to Man United on GW1 and handed Chicharito his first start in claret and blue, but ended up getting thrashed 4-0 after showing no real signs of threatening the United net. Chicharito looked isolated up top and as a result, fans across the country began to wonder whether the striker was ever going live up to expectations in East London.

That viewpoint appears to be shared amongst a large number of FPL managers who have already cut ties with the Hammers newbie heading in to GW2, when West Ham travel to Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Chicharito's FPL value means he won't be too difficult to return to if he does indeed start scoring goals but for the time being, it appears more and more FPL managers are unwilling to be patient and would rather bring in a more trusted alternative.

The ten most sold FPL players heading in to GW2 (at the time of writing) are above.
