FPL: Late introduction of Marcus Rashford boosts U23 XI’s fortunes

No one likes the international break but at least it gives us more time to consider what to do with our Fantasy Premier League teams before the next gameweek.

This season we’ve set up five just-for-fun teams to make our FPL seasons a little more interesting, and we want your help with the decisions we make.

One of our teams is the U23 XI, which is a team made of… you get the idea. So far our youngsters have achieved a pretty average overall FPL points total of 321, but did enjoy a fantastic GW7 with an impressive haul of 62. It leaves them in mid-table of our mini-league, which is made up of Chelsea Rejects, Man United rejects, an Over 30s XI and an all-England XI.

Before GW7 we decided to activate our wildcard following a number of disappointing points returns in previous weeks. It led to John Stones, Eric Dier, Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson all being given then boot to be replaced by Andreas Christensen, Davinson Sanchez, Leroy Sane and Marcus Rashford. Quite why we didn’t start the season with the latter two is a mystery, so don’t bother asking.

The real gems in the team at the moment are Richarlison, Gabriel Jesus, newbie Rashford and, of course, Dele Alli when he’s not doing silly things like diving or picking fights with the opposition.

However, there must be more we can do to this team ahead of GW8. There are so many young, promising players in the Premier League and surely we haven’t picked the best of them already.

What do you think we should do ahead of GW8? We’ve got £2.8 in the bank to play with, as well as all three chips still available. Let us know in the comments section below…
