Former captain of the United States national team Jimmy Conrad has sent his best wishes to Hashtag United, as we celebrated our third birthday on Tuesday.
The occasion marks three years since Spencer Owen created the team, initially made up of friends from school and university, and the remarkable rise of the club since that day back in 2016 couldn’t have been foreseen beyond anyone’s wildest imaginations.
It’s an hono(u)r to have played a small part in the adventure.

Conrad, who appeared for his country at the 2006 World Cup in South Africa, has actually played a small part in the blossoming of Hashtag United, appearing for us in the 2017 edition of the Wembley Cup.
The former Kansas City Wizards defender ended up on the winning team that day, proving to be a colossus at the back for Hashtag as they triumphed by six goals to one against Tekkers Town at the national stadium – a fine day for everyone involved with the club.
Since that memorable October’s day, we have since become a part of the Football Association’s ladder of aspiring clubs having been granted a place in the aforementioned Eastern Senior League, whilst we have also enjoyed success in the eSports department.
To have our achievements recognised by Conrad, a man who has played at the pinnacle of world football on a stage that every player dreams of appearing in, speaks volumes of just how far we have come.
Here’s to many more years of success!
