Hashtag United Coaching Changes

As with any club, pre-season means a few changes to personnel both on and off the pitch, so we thought we’d keep you updated with comings, goings and sideways movements as we gear up for another huge season.

To anyone who watches our content, we think it’s pretty clear that everyone at the club loves being there, but what’s sometimes not as obvious is the time commitment everyone puts in, in most cases, on top of their proper job and their family life.

This season we’re moving to twice weekly training sessions, so the commitment required has gone up another notch and we know that it’s not easy for some.

Coaching changes

Unfortunately we’ll be starting the season without someone who’s been such a huge part of the club since we started.  The Man Mountain himself Rich Beck will be stepping away from his coaching duties to press ahead with his own football academy (Beaconsfield Town FC Academy).

Rich remains a huge part of our extended family, we thank him for everything he has done and we hope he will one day be in a position to be involved regularly again in the future.  Good luck, you ledge!

In addition, one of last season’s coaches James Mountford will also not be returning next season.  James volunteered to help out last summer, again on top of his normal coaching job, and he was a huge help.  We’re sorry to see you go as well James; thank you for everything!

To replace Rich and James, we’re pleased to say that some very familiar faces are going to be helping Devs and Richo this season.  Tom Williams and Hussein Isa (Tekkers Guru) will combine coaching with playing for the first team, and OG Andy Cade Watts returns after his break to coach Jacko and any new keepers we bring in.  Andy decided to hang up his playing gloves towards the end of last season but we’re so glad to have him back with us in this new role.

Obviously with pre-season looming, we’ll be seeing some new faces in at the club, not least of which will be the winner (and possibly others) from the Academy series.  We won’t know how our full first team squad is panning out until just before the season starts, but we’ll keep you updated as much as possible on our social accounts.

Sadly we’re saying goodbye to two players from last season’s league-winning squad.  With the incredible run the boys went on, and the pressure to win every game, it proved hard for squad players to break through, and as a result Aaron Couch and Gabe Kellum are moving to pastures new in the search for more regular football.

They leave with our best wishes and again, they’ll always be part of the family.  Gabe is heading back to the USA so we’re hoping he’ll spread the word of Hashtag over the pond.
