Hashtag United esports update: First players for FIFA 20 season announced!

Hey guys!

We know it’s been a while since there were any updates regarding our esports team, but we have some exciting news.

Hashtag Harry and Hashtag Shawrey are being re-signed to the Hashtag United roster after impressing for us last season!

Shawrey had an outstanding debut event for the club, turning in a brilliant performance at the FUT Champs in January which saw him land a top eight finish!

Shawrey’s re-signing comes after a rookie season which started with him on an eight-week contract through the Gfinity Elite Series Draft, which allowed for clubs to pick up young talent. Some really strong early performances then put his name into contention for a roster spot, which eventually became the reality as he signed a season-long deal with us following an impressive few weeks.

Speaking after he re-signed, Alex Shaw aka Shawrey said: “Re-signing for Hashtag United means the world to me, after admiring the club since I became involved in competitive FIFA – it’s a dream to play for Hashtag United. With the next season coming up I’m excited and ready to put everything into becoming the best player I can for the club.”

In Harry’s case, he now becomes the longest serving esports player in the scene with the upcoming FIFA 20 season being his 4th! After beating off some of the world’s best during a solid FIFA 19 campaign, Hazza will be looking to build on and push for a World Cup spot in 2020.

Upon his re-signing, Harry Hesketh aka Hashtag Harry had this to say: “Delighted to have signed my 4th contract at the club, I’ve had an amazing 3 years and was only ever signing for one club as I’m sure everyone knows.

“I’ve had a fun off-season (as I’m sure everyone knows) but I’m more motivated than ever for the upcoming season. I performed quite well at tournaments last season, so it’s something to build on and I’m sure I’ll be near the top in FIFA 20 and hopefully pick up a trophy if Tekkz & Dossary have a day off!”

With these two on the books, we say goodbye to Ryan Pessoa and Harry Blackmore aka Badger, who won’t be with us for FIFA 2020.

Everyone at the club wishes them all the best in the next chapters of their respective FIFA careers!
