What’s up, guys!
Pre-season is over now, and it’s onto the real stuff.
The lads enjoyed a decent summer of pre-season games, winning three and losing three of their six fixtures, although there were some pretty impressive performances and some wonder-strikes to go with it!
We ended our pre-season with a 4-1 defeat to Tilbury, although that shouldn’t dampen the mood ahead of our first league game against Southend Manor – if you’re in need of some pre-match information, you’ve come to the right place.
Our opponents for Wednesday evening’s game lost their last outing against Sporting Bengal, which was their first fixture of the campaign.
Southend Manor boss Adam Peek has selected this squad for the match against Devs and the boys:
Josh Harrison – Goalkeeper
Dylon Bradford – Defender
Ope Mosuro- Defender/Midfielder
Josh Brocklebank- Defender
Billy Rungay – Defender
Jacob Evident – Defender
Connor Borrows – Defender
Cameron Harris – Defender
Lewis Pooley – Defender
Alfie Walker – Midfielder
Jordan Fisher – Midfielder/Defender
Brad Rowland – Midfielder
Max Mukaka – Midfielder
Callum Fitzer – Midfielder
Jordon Chambers – Midfield/Forward
Luca Grisili – Forward
Kelvin Karanja – Forward
Harry Rogers – Forward
Larry Akanbi – Forward
Mekhi Hyde – Forward/Midfield
Our opponents have been a football club since 1955 and have a rich history in the game since Gilbert and Doris Medcalf founded the team after emigrating to Southend.
Since then, they have progressed massively. In the years following Southend Manor’s creation, the club has grown to the extent that a total of 22 teams take the field representing the badge each weekend.
In terms of our squad, Devs has selected the following players…injury and absence has limited his options somewhat but it’s still looking strong!
If you’re interested in heading down to the game to cheer on the lads, here’s everything you need to know:
Kick-off: Wednesday 7th August 7:45pm
Tickets: Adults £5. Concessions £2. Those Under-12 have free entry.
