Charlie Morley discusses the weather and his freekick from our last game

Hello, all! We recently earned a hard fought 4-2 win over May and Bakers, a match which was dominated by the awful weather conditions – it looked like a nightmare for the defenders and the goalkeepers!

Nevertheless, Jay Devereux managed to help us get the three points which kept them at the top of the league.

It was a tough game, which looked nervy at 3-2 before our set-piece specialist Charlie Morley stepped up to the plate. It was his freekick that saw us score our fourth goal and practically end May and Bakers’ chances of a comeback.

Skip to 25:04 to see what Charlie had to say about the game!

“What were the conditions like and what was it like to play out on that pitch?”

“Possibly the worst conditions ever! I’d prefer to play in absolutely wet conditions rather than windy, it’s horrible. It wasn’t a good game of football to watch from the sidelines but we dug deep and got the result that we needed.”

Speaking about his freekick, which settled the game as a contest, Charlie said: “The second one of the season. It was probably not as good (as his first), but you’re not gonna top what I did earlier in the season really are you?”

“Should you be on permanent freekick duties from now on?”

“I’m not gonna say a definite yes, but I think I’ve staked my claim. Two freekicks, two goals.”
