Jesse Waller-Lassen has decided to leave Hashtag United following a short break from the side.
Jesse has been open about his decision, saying: “As some of you may be aware – I have recently taken some time away from playing football.
“I have now made the decision to step away for the rest of the season. I absolutely love football and always have. Unfortunately I have just found myself not enjoying playing anymore – through no fault of Hashtag or anyone involved. Everyone has been great from the first minute I joined – from the fans to the staff and players, making me feel so welcome and loved!
“I will be taking this time to focus on my coaching and hopefully rediscovering my love of playing football! I will continue to watch and be a Hashtag fan and hopefully I will be lucky enough to play for the club again in the future.”
Devs also had some words on Jesse’s decision, saying: “I’m naturally disappointed that Jesse won’t play for us again this season.
The silky playmaker was a phenomenal player for us in his short time at Hashtag United, recording some truly amazing statistics while also delivering some of the best individual performances we have seen in a yellow and blue shirt.
In total, Jesse netted seven goals and recorded 11 assists for us in his 18 appearances for the Tags, playing 1,543 minutes and winning 14 of those 18 games.
Additionally, Jesse won three Man of the Match awards throughout his time with us, registering 0.39 goals per game and 0.61 assists per game.
Arguably one of his best displays was against Sawbridgeworth Town, assisting all four goals in a 4-0 win, which you can watch below.
Another eye-catching outing from Jesse came in a 5-2 win over Enfield in the Essex Senior League, as he netted a goal and also racked up two assists.
We have absolutely loved having Jesse on board this season and we are all sorry to see him go. All of us at Hashtag United wish him the very best of luck in the future, and would also like to thank him for his effort and commitment.
