Match Winner: Neil Richmond reveals his thoughts on crucial 1-0 win over Wormley

Hello again!

With just four games left to play this season, Jay Devereux and the lads are sitting pretty at the top of the league, largely thanks to a crucial 1-0 win away to Wormley Rovers last time out.

It was a very hard-fought game, and credit to Wormley for their efforts. However, we did manage to take a crucial three points home with us thanks to Neil Richmond’s headed effort early in the second half.

Our No.10 scored the game’s first and only goal – his 21st of the season- and even found the time to chat about what he thinks got us the win, as well as how he plans to celebrate the victory that put us six points clear of Halstead Town.

“A tough win away from home. You bagged a goal, how was that for you?”

Neil: “Difficult. Really difficult. I think it was even harder after they went down to 10, but at this stage of the season, you just wanna get three points. We got three points, we move on, and four to go.”

“You’re quite an experienced player at this level. What does it take to grind out a win away from home like this?”

Neil: “Just hard work. Just keep working hard and eventually we’ll get through, we got the three points so yeah. Basically hard work got us through.”

“You played a great game. What are you going to do tonight to celebrate?”

Neil: “I’m gonna celebrate with a curry, at work! On the night shift!”
