Official: Hashtag United announce the departure of Hussein ‘Tekkers Guru’ Isa

Some player/coach news for you today…

Hussein Isa a.k.a Tekkers Guru is to leave us as he searches for more regular football.

Isa has been with us since chapter one in 2017, and also played his part in our title-winning season in our first campaign as a non-league club so it’s fair to say he has definitely left his mark on the club’s short history.

Speaking about his decision to leave the Tags, Isa said: “I’d like to thank the club for giving me a platform to have experiences that will forever be in my heart.

“From the start of this journey, it has always been the football that has been my highest priority, as well as my ambition and desire to play as much as I can for this club. I’ve had some great, unforgettable experiences which I’ve seen as a bonus.

“I’d like to offer a special thank you to Stevie CB for bringing me along and introducing me to the club. I’d also like to say thank you to Spencer for ultimately giving me the opportunity to play for Hashtag United.

“I still have a burning desire to play whilst I can, and until that passion is gone, I wouldn’t be staying true to myself by staying at the club.  I wish everyone at the club the very best for the season and beyond.”

Spencer has also taken the time to share his thoughts on Isa’s decision.

The big man said: “Isa is moving on with our best wishes and also our huge thanks for the role he’s played at the club. Since first getting involved with the Hashtag Academy 7-a-side team in the Next Level League, he’s shown his class as a technically-gifted player on the pitch and a lovely lad off of it.

“He joined the first team towards the back end of chapter one in 2017, and then of course was part of our league-winning squad in the 2018/19 debut season in non-league.

“Often in football, good friends you’ve made need to move on and Isa has a desire to play more football elsewhere, which I completely understand. As our squad develops and gets more competitive, this will happen from time to time but I’ve no doubt that Isa still has a lot to offer another team.

“We offered him a coaching role to make use of his extensive technical knowledge and to help younger players coming through, but unfortunately Devs couldn’t offer Isa the on-pitch game time he wanted.

“I personally wish Isa the best and will continue to support whatever he does moving forward. There’s only one Tekkers Guru!”

So, Isa departs with all of our best wishes and we’re all wishing him well for the future.

Never forget to Hashtag it, Tekkers Guru!
