Premier Picks: Hashtag Academy star Sean Alexander shares his PL predictions!

How’s it going guys?

Today, we’ve spoken to Sean Alexander ahead of this weekend’s Premier League games, where he has very kindly shared his predictions with us.

You may remember Sean from Season 2 of the Hashtag Academy, who impressed Spencer and others on his way to reaching the fifth episode, before his exit was announced at the start of the sixth episode following a public vote.

Sean has been playing for the Sunday side this season and we’re keeping close tabs on him as he’s a big talent for the future.

Let’s take a look at what the Academy star thinks will happen in England’s top-flight this weekend…

Liverpool 2-0 Watford

“I see Liverpool winning this fairly comfortably. I think Watford will come out lively under their new manager Nigel Pearson and look to keep it tight, but Liverpool will be too strong for me.”

Burnley 1-1 Newcastle

“Burnley are in poor form right now and Newcastle are a team on the up. However, I don’t see Burnley losing at home, so I think this has a fairly boring score draw written all over it.”

Chelsea 3-1 Bournemouth

“Got to back my boys at home. Bournemouth are another side in very poor form and we need a reaction after losing out to Everton last week. I think we follow a comfortable win against Lille with another strong performance here.”

Leicester 3-1 Norwich

“Leicester are in incredible form at the moment and I don’t see them slipping up this weekend. Norwich are 19th and in a lot of trouble this season – I think it will be another convincing win for Leicester as they look to put the pressure on Liverpool.”

Sheffield United 2-1 Aston Villa

“Sheffield United will be looking to take advantage of an Aston Villa side who are winless in three games, and were also hammered by Leicester last weekend. Sheffield United are doing well this season up in eighth, and whilst I think it’ll be a close game I see the Blades edging it.”

Southampton 1-0 West Ham

“I see Southampton edging a nervy game against West Ham, with both sides really needing the win. West Ham are in free fall at the moment, and I see this continuing away to a Southampton side who have enjoyed a little bit of a resurgence in recent weeks.”

Manchester United 1-1 Everton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Michael Carrick

“I see this being a very boring, tight game. Manchester United will be coming into this game off the back of two very good results vs Manchester City and AZ Alkmaar, but they’ve proved time and time again that, when there isn’t space in behind teams, they lack the creativity to create/score chances.

“I expect Everton to put in a similar shift to what they did vs Chelsea last weekend, keeping it tight defensively and looking to break through Richarlison and Theo Walcott. I see both sides cancelling each other out in a boring draw.”

Wolves 1-1 Tottenham

“Wolves are known for being a thorn in many a top-six team’s side, and I don’t believe Sunday will be any different. Tottenham will be looking for a reaction after losing in the week to Bayern Munich, but ultimately I see both teams cancelling each other out, in another tight 1-1 draw.”

Arsenal 1-3 Manchester City

“I think Manchester City will walk all over Arsenal. After resting lots of key players in midweek, and Arsenal being very uninspiring in recent weeks, I can’t look past a comfortable City win as pressure mounts on this Gunners squad.”

Crystal Palace 1-0 Brighton

“I see a very tight game here, with Crystal Palace notoriously very difficult to beat at home, particularly under Roy Hodgson. I also see a real lack of chances, with Palace nicking it maybe through a bit of Wilfried Zaha magic.”
