What’s going on, people!
It’s Friday again, and that means it’s time for another Premier Picks segment.
We saw Yani’s predictions last week, which involved some terrible shouts such as Newcastle to easily beat Norwich and Burnley to come away from the Emirates with all three points – shamefully, I agreed with him on the Newcastle result!
This week it’s Ricky Evans’ turn to have a go, so let’s take a look at what the big man himself went for and see if I agree with him (I’ll probably just agree with every single one out of pure fear).
After watching Teemu Pukki smash in a hat-trick last week, I can see why Ricky thinks the Canaries will grab a goal, although their defence simply isn’t that good having conceded four to Liverpool in one half just two weeks ago. I’m also going for a Chelsea win as a result, but maybe by a 3-1 scoreline instead – don’t hurt me Ricky.
Ricky’s gone for a 2-2 draw in the South Coast derby, and I can’t disagree that it’ll be a goal fest. Both sides have fairly weak defences but quality in attack such as Che Adams, Neal Maupay and Danny Ings, so I’ll also go with a score draw.
Palace were simply awful against Sheffield United, and United should have way too much firepower for the Eagles to cope with. I agree that United will win, but I reckon it’ll be by a 4-0 scoreline instead.
Bold shout from Ricky, this. Leicester should have far too much talent for the Blades to deal with in the likes of James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Wilfried Ndidi to name a few. 3-0 to the Foxes for me.
Watford have had a terrible start to the season, but they’re a decent side and they shouldn’t be on a bad run for too long, which makes me inclined to agree with Ricky that they’ll get the win. 1-0 to Watford for me.
Arsenal and Dani Ceballos impressed against Burnley last week, but we know just know dangerous Liverpool can be with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah up top. At Anfield, I also can’t see anything other than a Liverpool win, but I’ll go with 3-1 instead of Ricky’s 2-0.
I don’t think this will be as easy as people reckon it’ll be. City have only won by slender margins in their last two visits to Bournemouth – remember Raheem Sterling scoring in stoppage time then being sent off by Mike Dean?
I think the Citizens will win this, but by two goals to one instead of 3-0.
If Norwich can put three past Newcastle, so can Tottenham and Harry Kane. This might even be a bigger win for Spurs with Heung-min Son now back from suspension – I reckon 4-0 to the north Londoners.
Wolves are still yet to win in the league this season but have been on fire in Europe. Again, Nuno’s side should have too much attacking class for Burnley, and I can also see a 2-0 win for them with Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota scoring.
Everton are the only side yet to concede a goal in the league this season, so Villa will have to be decent to even score let alone win. Moise Kean was class on his Goodison Park debut vs Watford, and I can see him grabbing his first goal in a 1-0 win for the Toffees, personally.
