The Week In Tweets: Departures, live streams and esports

Hey guys, welcome back to the site!

The first week of the new decade has been a lively one – and it’s about to get even more hectic having three games over an eight day period! Anyway, today we’re looking back at what’s been going on in the world of Hashtag United on Twitter.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No – it’s Louis Hawes diving high to his left to keep us in the game at the weekend.  Fair to say we have two quality keepers playing for us, and that’s even before Jacko returns!

Spencer has been really busy this week; on Monday he was joined by Jules Breach for the FA’s first ever Emirates FA Cup Show, with guests including ex-Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards, plus Radio 1 DJ Chris Stark.

The Emirates FA Cup Show will be live on Twitter before, during and after each draw, with the next broadcast coming after the fourth round takes place between Friday 24 January and Monday 27 January. Make sure you give it a watch!

But that’s not it, as if you’ve been following Spen this week you’ll have seen that he’s really upping his Twitch game and is doing a marathon charity stream for charities helping with the fire crisis in Australia.  Do get involved, as not only will you be served some quality content but you can win some amazing prizes for yourselves.

And on Saturday, part of his stream will come from our game at Tilbury!  You may have seen or heard last night’s commentary which served as a test for things to come, and despite a few technical gremlins we’re now in a great position to offer live commentary for every home game.

And still on content, our favourite American is back and with a brand new show – make sure you check out Jimmy Conrad’s new show, The Soccer Minute: all of your footballing gossip in just 60 (well, 75) seconds!

In some sad news as mentioned the other day, Jesse is moving on to pastures new. “I will be taking this time to focus on my coaching and hopefully rediscovering my love of playing football!,” he said, after playing 18 times and registering 11 assists for the club.

You can find out what manager Devs said in the web link, which also has more comment from Jesse about his time at United.

Hashtag United fans took to Twitter to thank Jesse for his efforts this season.

And lastly, it’s not very often you can say you’re the best in the world at something…well, our FIFA boys have been smashing it recently ahead of FUT 3 in Atlanta next week. Keep up the great work, lads!
