West Essex vs Hashtag United: Samraj Gill returns to his former club!

How’re you all doing guys?

Welcome back to the site!

Today, we’ve got a match preview for you ahead of our trip to West Essex, who are currently sat in seventh.

The lads will be heading into the game off the back of an impressive 5-2 win over Enfield last time out, as Devs returned to take on his old side – West Essex are on a three-game losing streak which included a 5-1 loss to Takeley, although we still cannot afford to get complacent.

This Saturday, another member of the Hashtag family in Samraj Gill will be seeing some familiar faces as he too returns to his former club…

Team News

Let’s start off with a positive – George Smith is back fit and available for selection!

George is our top scorer with 14 goals so far this season, as well as five assists in just 19 games – he has been involved in a goal every game on average, which is seriously impressive.

Additionally, Jamie Hursit made his return from injury last time out against Enfield, so hopefully we will get to see him gather some more game time under his belt this Saturday against West Essex as he continues his recovery.

There is also a return to the squad for Simon Peddie – welcome back Peds!

For the first time in a while, Devs and the lads didn’t have a midweek match to deal with, so the squad is looking fresh and healthy going into this game.

Here is the squad for the Essex Senior League clash against West Essex:

J Hursit
Waller Lassen
T Richmond

Ones to Watch

Two Hashtag players who are in particularly eye-catching form right now are Ross Gleed and Jesse Waller-Lassen.

The pair of them have been delivering on a regular basis for a number of weeks – we’ll have to start calling them the postmen!

Gleedy has netted seven goals in his last eight games, including a phenomenal 25-yard freekick against Sawbridgeworth Town which flew into the top right corner.

In Jesse’s case, the Non-League Philippe Coutinho’s stats from the last ten games are jaw-dropping.

Jesse has netted five goals and has also recorded ten assists in the last ten outings, including some absolutely magical set-ups using that effective chop technique – as we’ve said before, more chops than a butcher!
