Whilst it may often lack the quality we've become accustomed to in the Premier League, nothing quite beats an FA Cup weekend during the winter months of the season. And the Fourth Round of the 2016/17 competition certainly delivered; non-leaguers Sutton United and Lincoln City claimed giant-killings over Championship outfits Leeds and Brighton respectively, whilst Millwall bagged a 1-0 win over Watford, Wolves unexpectedly eliminated an out-of-sorts Liverpool and Wycombe Wanderers took Tottenham close, eventually losing 4-3 at White Hart Lane.Indeed, the FA Cup has clearly lost the prestige of yesteryear, but it still guarantees shock results and fantastic days out for the fans of the so-called lesser sides. Accordingly, its also a fantastic breeding ground for statistical gems; so what better way to relive the weekend's FA Cup action than via some of the numerical anomalies to emerge from it?With that in mind, Football FanCast takes a look at the most shocking stats of the weekend.

Liverpool's curse

Liverpool kicked off Saturday's FA Cup action in the manner many of their fellow favourites would go on to follow; losing to lesser opposition, in this instance Wolves, upon fielding somewhat weakened teams. And that banana skin of underestimating the opposition has been a common one on Merseyside; all of the Reds' last three FA Cup defeats at Anfield have come at the hands of Championship clubs. Clearly, Liverpool need to start taking the second tier a little more seriously.

Awesome Antonio

It's been a breath-taking start to life at Chelsea for Antonio Conte. The Italian took the best part of just two months to transform last season's 10th-placed side into firm title favourites and the Blues are now progressing well in the FA Cup too, battering Brentford 4-0 on Saturday in a relatively routine affair. That result has made Conte the most successful manager to serve under owner Roman Abramovich after 27 games, winning 22 of them.

History made

As already mentioned, the FA Cup's fourth round was a weekend of giant-killings, as non-league duo Sutton United and Lincoln City claimed unexpected wins against Championship opposition. Rather incredibly, that means two non-league sides have progressed to the fifth round - just four games away from actually lifting the trophy - for the first time in the FA Cup's long and prestigious history. It's also the first time Lincoln have been involved in 130 years.

New Gunners record?

Whilst the majority of the favourites let slip last weekend, Arsenal held up their end of the bargain against arguably the toughest opposition of the Fourth Round. Indeed, the Gunners and Southampton both played weakened teams but that shouldn't take away from an impressive 5-0 win for the north London side at St. Mary's. That puts Wenger's boys on the verge of history; if they claim another away win in the competition, they'll have set a new club record.

Pedro's output

Pedro's very much an unsung hero in Antonio Conte's Chelsea side. Whilst few doubt the former Barcelona forward's pedigree, he doesn't grab the headlines in the same way as attacking accomplices Diego Costa and Eden Hazard and, perhaps as a consequence, often finds himself the first to be subbed off. Nonetheless, this statistic pays homage to how influential the Spaniard is; he's the only player in the Premier League to have scored and assisted on four different occasions this season.

Underrated Perez

Upon moving to the Emirates Stadium from Deportivo, Lucas Perez was immediately branded one of the worst signings of the summer. Whilst he hasn't had a huge impact on Arsenal's season or particularly elevated them in the title race, the stats suggest he's made a more than adequate contribution so far this season, notching up six goals and five assists in just 15 appearances - only seven being starts. Certainly not a return to be sniffed at.

Magic Martial

Anthony Martial may be struggling to hold down a place in Manchester United's regular Premier League XI but Jose Mourinho clearly brought the Frenchman back into the fold at the right time on Sunday. Indeed, Martial seemingly adores the FA Cup, contributing to nine goals in his last eight appearances in the competition - including two set-ups in the 4-0 win over Wigan at Old Trafford. Will that push the young forward up the pecking order? We'll have to wait and see.

Porous Magpies

Newcastle surprisingly found themselves on the end of a 3-0 battering at the hands of League One side Oxford on Saturday, in no doubt due to Rafa Benitez making an incredible amount of changes to his usual starting XI. Regardless, that's left Newcastle the owners of a rather unfortunate statistic; they've now gone a staggering eleven FA Cup games without keeping a clean sheet, stemming all the way back to 2010. Ironically, they've conceded the second-fewest goals of any Championship side this term.

Arsenal redemption

Safe to say, Southampton have emerged as a bit of a bogey team for Arsenal in recent years, managing just two wins from their last six meetings compared to the south coast outfit's three. But in the absence of the suspended Arsene Wenger, the Gunners truly turned the tide on Saturday in an emphatic 5-0 romping at St. Mary's. Incredibly, that was more goals than Arsenal had managed in their last seven games against Claude Puel's side - a paltry four.

The real king of the Kop

Paul Lambert's Aston Villa side were famed for ruffling Liverpool feathers whilst Brendan Rodgers was in the dugout and the Scottish gaffer has seemingly brought his Midas touch into his Wolves tenure. The second-tier outfit are battling it out at the less glamorous end of the Championship table this season but managed to find a higher level of performance on Saturday, claiming a 2-0 win on Merseyside. That gives Lambert a near-perfect record at Anfield, winning three and drawing two of his five outings there as a manager.
